bradley

Dr Alastair Bradley, Chair
Email: chair@sheffieldlmc.org.uk

Alastair qualified in Sheffield in Medicine in 1990 and completed a Law degree (LLB) in 2005. He worked for the University of Sheffield until 2015 as Senior Clinical Lecturer, obtaining an MPhil in Informed Consent and Shared Decision Making. Medical interests include Diabetes and Atrial Fibrillation where he has helped to develop Shared Decision Making tools. He has worked at Tramways Medical Centre since 1995. Alastair joined the LMC Executive in July 2016 as Executive Officer, and was elected to the post of Vice Chair in December 2016.

Outside interests include playing golf, running and cycling, Fell walking (the higher and steeper the better) and helping one of his sons restore classic cars. He and his son are starting to Hill Climb race the restored cars.

danielleDr Danielle McSeveney, Vice Chair
Email: vicechair@sheffieldlmc.org.uk

Danielle qualified from Sheffield in 2008, then moved up to Dundee to complete her foundation years along with the 1st half of GP training. Following an interdeanery transfer, Danielle moved to York to complete her GP training and continued to work in York as a salaried GP for the next 5 years. In 2018 she finally made her way back to Sheffield, initially as a salaried GP, before accepting a partnership role at Walkley House Medical Centre later that year. Danielle joined the LMC in April 2019, was elected to the post of Executive Officer in December 2020 and took on the role of Vice Chair in June 2022.

Outside of work Danielle has 2 small children and enjoys baking (the more complicated the recipe the better), jumping between various fabric related crafts (even occasionally managing to finish a project) and running - when a pandemic isn’t causing much disruption she can often be found on a Saturday morning at one of the many Sheffield park runs.

savage

Dr David Savage, Secretary
Email: secretary@sheffieldlmc.org.uk

David did so badly in his Science O-Levels that he was accepted in to Southampton Medical School with only English, French and German qualifications! He qualified in Southampton and moved to Sheffield in 1985 to pursue a career in general medicine. David eventually saw the light and started as a GP Registrar with Dr John Russell in 1989 and has been on the LMC ever since. He became the LMC Secretary in 2004.

David retired as a GP partner after 30 years in June 2019  but continues to work occasional locum sessions for Broomhill and Lodge Moor surgeries in West Sheffield. He still very much enjoys the work of the LMC Executive.

His daughter is now a junior doctor and David has recently sampled the NHS in the form of a knee replacement - he will do anything to improve his golf handicap! He still enjoys socialising and intends to travel widely in his retirement.

krish

Dr Krishna Kasaraneni, Executive Officer
Email: execofficer@sheffieldlmc.org.uk

Krishna qualified from Leicester Medical School in 2005 and trained across Yorkshire before settling down in Sheffield in 2008. He is now a  GP partner at Steel City General Practice with clinical interests in chronic conditions, and is involved in training and education. He has been a member of the LMC since 2018 and was involved in national GP negotiations till 2021.

Outside of work, he is a very dull person who mainly reads books about history, watches any sport that’s on the TV and spends most of his free time ferrying his two sons to their various sporting commitments.  He is a proud Newcastle fan, and unlike Gareth, he can see a bright future for his hometown club.

Gareth McCrea

Dr Gareth McCrea, Executive Officer

Email: execofficer@sheffieldlmc.org.uk

After moving to Sheffield from Northern Ireland as a child, Gareth left to study medicine in Birmingham in 2009. He returned in 2016 for GP training and is now a GP at Tramways Medical Centre. His interests within medicine include palliative care. Gareth was elected to the post of Executive Officer on the LMC in December 2020.

Outside of work, Gareth is a football fanatic, although his support of Sheffield United has brought him more despair than pleasure of late.
